Well... I can't say if reawakening repressed memories is a good thing.

I'm an older person now. And, in my own case, I have few memories prior to the age of around 8. Plus... I was an only child. And years ago my parents would often tell me stories about things I did when I was younger. So, as a result, even with some of the memories of my young childhood I do have, I don't know if I actually remember them, or if what I remember is what my parents told me about years later.
I like to learn about the findings of current research into the workings of the brain. And one thing that keeps coming up is that memory is a lot less reliable than we would typically imagine. In fact, it's apparently relatively easy to convince people they did something they never actually did!

So, at least to me, one has to be really careful about dredging up past memories. One could easily become all caught up in some memory that isn't accurate or didn't even happen. At least that would be my concern.
