I have wondered if I just don't tell them until after the fact.
I am sick of justifying myself - and being talked out of things important to me. One example is kayaking. I sold the second one so this is a venture I now do alone. Not everyone has two kayaks as I used to. Going solo is pretty much what people do. Why is it such a big deal if I choose to do so? But no, I am 'risking my life' so I must be manic.
I have a big purchase. I have thought it out a great deal. It is a practical decision. It will improve my daily life and give me a sense of independence I haven't had in seven years. But I just know that family won't see it that way.
