Yes, my dog sometimes stares at me too. And I rarely give him any treats! Since your hubby is constantly giving the dog treats, it's no wonder the dog stares at him! It's really unfortunate the dog is getting all of this stuff. He may be healthy now. But all of this does not bode well for his future.

Our dog receives his veterinary care at our local veterinary medical college. And the vets there have commented that, because so many dogs are overweight, people in general don't know what a properly weighted dog looks like. We have always watched our dog's weight carefully, as well as, given him a good amount of exercise. And now we're especially glad we did because he's getting older & he was recently diagnosed as having kidney disease. (There's no cure for this in dogs.) But, so far, he's still healthy & doing well.

Unfortunately, I don't know what to suggest with regard to your hubby's treat-feeding habit. It's not silly from my perspective. But, unfortunately, I don't know as I have any solutions to offer you either.

Thanks for this!
