Possible trigger:

a couple of years ago one of our insiders called the police to report that the entire system was suicidal, and gave them our address and everything.

when they showed up, it was like 2 in the morning. we opened the door and they are like we're looking for such and such a person, she said she is suicidal.

and we're like waaaa?. who is she?

and they are like we don't know, she called from this address

in the end it was an entirely wasted visit, and they left without doing anything to us, because like in your experience, the alter decided not to show at the time.

made us angry once we got ourselves alone in our room- and even a little sad
