Having had a bit of time to reflect I want to respond to your email, I hope that isn't confusing for you.
I identify with your description of choosing to care for someone resulting in that person having a place in your heart.
And yes, my relationship with you is a reality for me and I do care about you, so yes, you are present in my heart.
Sometimes people I care about 'come to mind', which is what I was referring to (awkwardly) when I said that will I think about you.
Do I miss the people I care about? Sometimes very much and sometimes not at all because it feels they are with me.
