Well... I clearly don't know the answer to this. But I noticed no one had replied to your post. So I thought I would.

I don't know what your experience with your doc has been. But mine has always been pretty-much singularly unhelpful except for prescribing & monitoring psych med's. So, assuming that your experience has been more-or-less similar, perhaps one alternative would be to see if you can get in to see a psychologist or at least a mental health therapist (assuming you're not already doing so, of course.) At least this would give you someone in real life to talk this through with. And if they agree this is something to be concerned about perhaps they can help you to communicate your concerns to your current doc, or help you find someone else who will take an interest.

Another alternative would be to see if you can be evaluated at an eating disorders program. And, beyond that, perhaps it's simply a matter of placing more emphasis on this with your doc. Maybe s/he just doesn't realize how significant a concern this is for you. You wrote that your doc told you you're not schizophrenic. I suppose it's possible what you're experiencing is simply due to anxiety. But it could be something else too. The only way you're going to be able to figure it out for sure is with the help of the mental health professionals in your life... either the ones you have now... or new ones if one ones you currently have aren't getting the job done for you. I wish you well...
