we have experienced this recently too, after having a long period where we had the same dream everynight, then a couple of years when we remembered no dreams, we have passed into a phase where our dreams are so vivid that we can't differentiate between the dreams & real memories. we can't place a thing like a blow on the head as having happened at that time, but we did go into a major thyroid storm which can cause just about anything.

We find the inability to differentiate between the dream memories and 3D memories very disturbing.
