I sometimes -usually late at night- as I'm working on my computer or going over the events of the day, have one or some of my alters talk to me about different things and even ask me if I remember this or that particular thing or event and I'll be like "When? No... Wait." Then I have to check through the stored memories like going through files until I find what they are talking about and then I'm like "Ok! Um...yeah, I remember now... What about it?"
But, it's like the memories are not necessarily my own but, the memory of an alter that I can only see because I know how to search for them when one brings them up.
It's like our brain is a huge database and I can familiarize myself with memories that I don't experience first hand by just viewing them in my mind's eye.
Does this sound like anything that anyone who is sure that they have DID or some form there of has experienced?
