A friend of mine worked at a vet clinic here with no degree. He did everything from working the reception desk to cleaning kennels to ordering inventory like pet food and supplies and walking the dogs that were in the kennel part of the clinic. Now he has his own business where he walks dogs and delivers dog food to his clients. Sometimes his clients ask him to petsit when they are on vacation.

An ex of mine was a vet tech, but that took about 2 years of training. He also did a shorter class in dog grooming (about 2 months) and worked doing grooming both through clinics and going to private clients' homes.
