One of the main reasons I don't sleep well is I am constantly on alert, and one aspect of this is I have a heightened sense of touch to the point where I feel like things are crawling on me (and I have checked for real bugs many times, and put down traps etc - this isn't real). I have been so obsessed with this that I was starting to do stupid things to protect myself like covering myself with poisonous insecticides every night.
A couple of days ago I hit on the idea of creating an enclosed environment and safe space for sleeping where I could be absolutely reassured nothing can crawl on me and that I can make into a sort of 'nest'. I searched the net and came across this:

It arrived yesterday and is so easy to put up (it's like a popup tent) so it's now setup on top of my bed. I was worried it wouldn't give me enough space as I like lots of space but it's surprisingly roomy and I have also got the largest comfiest sleeping pod I could find as I don't like feeling too restricted

I put some lavender oil on my pillow and I have setup bluetooth speakers on either side to create a stereo ambience playing nature sounds that help me sleep (bird song, water, chimes). Also I have an electric underblanket to warm it before I get in.
I was actually really looking forwards to sleeping in it and am again tonight, normally I dread going to bed.
Anyone else tried something like this? It's like a little tent on top of the bed. Slept in it last night for the first time, still tossed and turned somewhat but I didn't feel claustrophobic and did feel more protected, will see if I can settle into it and am planning to also get some stick on LEDs nightlights (any other suggestions to make it feel like a nest let me know).
