my parents named me Jennifer when I was born. That was my first name. My mother was a stoner and high at the time, so I'm just glad I didn't end up named like, Moonbeam or something like that.

I use the middle name they gave me. I grew up in the 80's where every ponytail sporting, peg leg blue jean wearing girl had some variation of Jennifer; Jen, Jenny, Jenna, Jeni. . .the list goes on. My middle name was unique. . .so that's what I started using and that's ALL I've ever used since.

Regarding the whole "title" thing I read back on one of the pages. . .you know, I have one of those too. In fact, I have a civilian one, and my military one. Now, on drill weekends, of course I use my military one, with my soldiers. I am "First Sgt" so and so to them. As it should be. But I don't ever introduce myself to people NOT in the military as "First Sgt." How rude! And in my civilian life, I don't EVER introduce myself with the letters before or behind my name. Again, I think that's so rude. If someone ASKS me. . .that's a bit different, but I never make that move first. In the profession sector, it's ok. But, my experience has been that people who introduce themselves as, "Oh hi! I'm DOCTOR so and so, yes yes, I have a PhD, I have MEd, etc" are usually pretty insecure in themselves to begin with.

Titles are best left to royalty in my humble opinion!
