1.5 mg may be too much, most studies suggest a therapeutic dose is somewhere between 0.5 and 1 mg, after that either it impacts on drowsiness when trying to get up, or worse, too much can make the body stop responding to Melatonin at all so actually make the problem worse (there is a threshold effect).
