I know what you mean, and I also get that, it is such a weird feeling...

I find that this happens generally most often in dreams, and majority of the time, its like I'm watching a movie of myself..and I can see myself. Or else I will find someone else in my position and watch them go through my experience. Especially lately I have been having reoccuring dreams with the same memories and people.
