I have taken a variety of meds in the past...stuff for anxiety and for depression. Also for sleep and nightmares. A long list that you can see below. In the end, all the ADs ended up causing more problems than helping and that APs that I tried from time to time really did nothing, because the problem was caused by the ADs. So now I am only on birth control to manage PMDD, and I am functioning very well. I would like to consider possibly going back on seroquel for sleep and possibly having some Xanax around for major PTSD episodes; however, after years of work I am finally being able to manage flashbacks, panic attacks, etc. I can't stop them from happening...with c-PTSD, I have so many triggers, I can get triggered by something I don't even realize, but at least I am now at a point in my life where I can recognize that i'm reacting to a trigger and can do self-care to manage my emotions and reactions. So where it would use to ruin an entire day or even days for me to have an attack of some kind, now I can actually work through it and go about my day. No med helped with that. That's all self-awareness, mindfulness, and learning coping strategies that will work for you.
