Pacing is the worst part, i think. Your mind just wont seem to shut down. I used to pace 24/7 when i was first on a psych ward. I did notice alot of people pacing too. Daydreaming just comes natural to me, i don't know how to come out of them sometimes, i get caught up in them throughout the day too. I think it is a way of coping that is bad for me. I did have many head injuries and think that is why I daydream. Also, during and after sleep apnea tests, i was told I have no REM sleep. Maybe that is why I dream in the day when i'm awake?
