I was thinking more along the same lines as this. Sometimes we need to come across something twice before we notice it or want to take notice of it or do anything about it. Perhaps when the 2nd client came along it shook her up and made her think more about needing to/wanting to find out more. I can totally see why this would be hurtful but it is worth considering that it wasn't about her placing a higher priority on the other client at all.
