I swear I have tardive dyskinesia. My legs are still twitchy and shaky but I watched them last night and it’s more of a little bit above a fine tremor. My toes curl, my legs get stiff and then the shaking starts. It almost looks like a nervous person’s leg shaking but the movement is not as pronounced. I’m also noticing that my right hand looks like I’m pointing at something when I’m resting, doing absolutely nothing. My pointer finger will just be up and outstretched while my hand and other fingers are relaxed.
This has been ongoing since the beginning of Jan. when my psychiatrist increased my dose of Latuda to the max. I've since lowered it on my own (within the past two weeks) and I still have the side effects. I'm going to have to lower it again. It is almost impossible to get in touch with my Dr in between appointments. I hope I'm not setting myself up for another round of mixed mania by reducing it but I don't feel like I can wait either. So far, except for the side effects, I'm feeling ok.
I'm scared at this point that these things will become permanent.
