Having a BPD diagnosis does not change who you are, you are the same person pre-diagnosis. The good thing about having a diagnosis is now you know why you do things/act certain ways. The gold star treatment for BPD is DBT, you can start this on your own through DBT Self Help the website explains it and walks you through DBT. I was diagnosed about 5 years ago, now I only have traits. Depression is still a huge concern for me. The best book I found for explaining things is BPD for Dummies. I got it from the library and then bought my own copy. Do not go searching the web for stuff on BPD as you will find mostly negative stuff.
