I take gabapentin and used to take Vistaril (Hydroxyzine) for anxiety. I also have bipolar but Latuda is my mood stabilizer/anti-psychotic.
A sleep study doesn't just check your breathing. It also checks your brain waves and heart rhythms, among other things. If you're having anxiety before going to sleep, though, your psychiatrist can give you a sleep med or an anti-anxiety med that can make you drowsy. You can also learn techniques in therapy to clear your mind and let the panicky thoughts roll by. I used to panic at night so that helped me.
