So...my birthday is in April...and finally, I can afford to get the tattoo on my arm covered with something that I like better. When I was 22 I got a huge tattoo on my left arm, sort of as a rebellious act, and a few years later realized I didn't like it so much. I keep it covered most of the time. If I can cover it with something I like better, and something a little more acceptable, I think I could get away with showing it more and not feeling uncomfortable showing it. So when I get back from my business trip I'm going to set up a meeting with a tattoo artist and start working on the design. Hopefully I can get it finished by my birthday. I expect it to take one or two sessions.
I have seen really beautiful watercolor style tattoos that are feminine but not cartoonish. That's what I really want to steer clear of. So many tattoos are so cartoonish, even the so-called "Japanese" style tattoos. I really want something that looks like a painting, like an artwork, and not like graffiti or a cartoon.
I'm very excited about this.
