Me and my fiance Fred went snowboarding. I still had remnants of a cold/flu.
I hired my bits and bobs but being Xmas time, money was tight so I didn't think I could quite afford a lesson before I hit the slopes.
I went down the beginner s slope twice and I stayed up. But stopping was hard and I had to fall back gently on my butt to stop once or twice. I watched the lessons and they actually went down backwards with board horizontal to master stopping. I had the balance. I just needed some pointers in a lesson and to take my time.
Fred had all the works and had been on holiday boarding and he left me, and went up the big main slope. I was on my own. I could have been kidnapped out in the mountains.
He came down and said I would be okay and I joined him. He was just thinking of himself as he always did.
It wad not a good idea. I should have stuck to the beginners slope. It was too steep and fast and I was learning to steer and stop. Fred laughed at me. So I took the board and I threw it down the hill.
I know it was it was a dangerous thing to do, as it may have tripped someone up. It wasn't like me to lose my cool.
So we retreated early to go drink hot choc. While I was reeling from Freds self centred Ness. Why he wouldn't lend me money for lessons after his work gave him a decent bonus. Having a cold didn't contribute to matters. But I won't make anymore excuses. I threw the board, I and should have ignored his laughing.
I should have said right next time I get lessons. What's done is done. Nobody got hurt, just my pride.
