This reminded me if the time I was dating a guy in college who wanted me to go hang gliding with him. I went BUT when it was my turn to go, I tried to pick up the hang glider & couldn't get it off the ground. I thought....WOW, if I can't even pick it up off the ground, I'm sure not going to be unwise enough to jump off the cliff with it. I gladly just watched most of the guys not actually do it either.
I have done snow skiing all my adult life (after high school) I got onto some mogul slopes in Jackson Hole Wyo at the ski resort there where we vacationed for over 20 years. Somehow I hit a bump wrong & did a yard sale crash face first down the steep slope. We were out with iur ski instructor friend & he headed down the hill to brace & stop me before I broke anything (like my neck) I was a lot more cautious about the slopes I took after that. Our daughter who has skiied since the age of 2 1/2 is fearless & could do most advanced runs. I knew NOT to accept the "ah come on mom" invitations even after years of ski lessons. One has to recognize their OWN LIMITATIONS.
