The judge sat there for several minutes in silence. I thought this was a good sign. Then he decided against me citing explicitly the relevant law. Maybe just maybe I came very close to being acquitted. So I am looking on this as a positive experience despite the added points on my driving record. Now I hope my new car insurer will overlook the points.
