When my previous psychiatrist diagnosed me as bipolar type 2, his plan for me was:

Lamactil (he said this is ideal for BP2) plus
quetiapine/Seroquel antipsychotic

I selected him because we have a local magazine that publishes best doctors as elected by other doctors.

I was on this only briefly—I got the dreaded Lamactil headache.

Mostly, I want to jump in here to reinforce the Lamactil and Seroquel that we’re alread mentioned. These are very good drugs to try.

My current pdoc has diagnosed me as bp type 1, which is why I’m not bothering to post my current meds. It’s just a difference of opinion, though.
