Knowing & understanding is a two way street. Most people have no idea a person is aspie or not & usually people don't go around waving a flag that says "I'm aspie research it so you know why I am the way I am"
I agree that close family should research to understand but even researching doesn't always explain exerything or give a good understanding because being aspie isn't a cookie cutter thing....the spectrum is broad & so are the different behaviors so it is not always easy to tell what is aspie behavior or not. Kinda difficult to get a good understamding of something like thst when even T's don't have that kind of knowledge or understanding

Well I've tried talking about certain things that have to do with me and people didn't understand. I'm angry with the people who aren't very understanding towards stuff like this. I'm not expecting people to just know. That would be ridiculous. I made sure I told them. I know it's a broad thing but I still think people should know about it. There's still similarities. I actually had this friend I was talking to
about something and he basically said well my grandma has autism and she's not like you. That's not exactly what he said I can't remember but that's pretty much what he said and it made me mad. It's like you said, autism and aspergers is a broad thing and he obviously doesn't undersatnd that cause he's ignorant and I'm sure some research would help with that problem. I would've said that at the time but I didn't have the words so I didn't say anything and I just got mad. I don't know if that would've helped cause this person is closed minded. Some people just aren't very understanding and they're close minded. Its the people like that I'm mad at. I'm sorry if there's so much hate in my post. I was just really angry and I wanted to express my feelings. So I'm sorry if I made anyone feel bad.
