Have you perhaps thought of making a Power-Point which very briefly explains ASD and then emailing it to everyone mecessary (wohever they may be) so that you can refer them to the power-point if any annoying statements arise?

It sounds as though you have skills w/power point (& other writing). Have you done a power point presentation about ASD? If so, I think many of us here would appreciate if you could share it w/us! Not all of us have such skills, (nor the time or lack of other stressors to learn!) Or a 2-minute "lecture" even? Just curious, b/c it would be an awesome contribution to many of us who have just about given up on "explaining" anything to close family members who prefer shunning, judging & disenfranchisement over understanding their "odd ball" relative. And have done those things for years (along w/the attendant gossiping, blaming & back-stabbing, b/c you do make them feel better about themselves after all) so for so long, it's just "easier" for them than empathy or compassion would be. I'm talking about something that would get even the most close-minded & unchangeable of minds to (at least) begin considering another option.
