At my Russian Facebook knockoff I can put which languages I speak. Although I guess it's more in the category of random trivia about me, not anything useful (I don't think that site can translate things).

I would have thought Facebook would be more sophisticated. I mean, Google (a comparable size coroporation, if nothing else) is very accomodating in this sense... I mean, there's no option to turn off translation?
