yesterday, I found myself watching one of those shows where they rescue animals (it was just on, so left it playing)

at one house, they had 144 dogs (144), all in really bad condition- no food, no water, living in utter filth

so the owner of the dogs said that she wanted to keep 24 dogs, and so they let her keep the ones not at risk

but when they came back in a few months, the owner had moved out and left the dogs to fend for themselves

out of the 144 dogs, 100 were able to be rehomed, but it's still terrible..... absolutely terrible

I mean if you're going to have a dog, at least make the effert to look after it.

she eventually admitted to what she did, and was banned from owning more than 3 dogs (she shouldn't own any dogs at all!)

if you don't want to look after a dog, don't get one

it is that simple

stories like this really upset me- because I love animals (probably explains why I did think about being a vet at one point in my life)
