Nurses used to wear white gabardine uniforms with caps rather than the scrubs they wear now. Very impractical. Whose bright idea was it to put white on a person who's going to be bled on, puked on, peed on, and who knows what else? The caps were always slipping out of place and had to be held on with at least forty bobby pins.
