Just wanted to share what I saw today. My daughters and I have only visited the cemetary near where we live about 3 times (we have lived in the area for 5-6years!). It is partly because they are becoming more aware of the fact that their brother is dead and a way for me to show them that other people die too, and 'this' is where we go to remember them. Today we found a beautiful are the cemetary. It was like a glade, surrounded by trees and with a garden seat. It was very serene, quiet and peaceful. When we got out to l ook at the headstones we discovered it is an area especially for the babies and young children who have died. I have heard of some cemetaries having areas like this but have never seen one for myself. I wish that my son was buruijed in a special area like this. It is nice where he is, and he is with family (my grandpa in particular) but every one of these plots down here have a special area to put mementos, toys, photos, whatever. Some people bring a small gift every birthday/Christmas and place it on the plot. My oldest daughter got a lot out of the visit today (she is nearly 8). As we were leaving she asked me what I would give her when she died. When I asked her to explain what she meant, she wanted to know what toys I would give her when she died- to put on her plot! I said to her that, hopefully, that would not happen for a long time, and also that I would like to die before her!!! She has not mentioned our visit since lol.
