My first suggestion is to contact your doctor even though you say you do not want to. Blood loss is not a good thing for your body, and depending on how much you lose it may need to be replaced. If you're feeling exhausted it may be affecting your iron count too.

Birth control pills are not the only option to prevent pregnancy. If you prefer something hormonal there are options like Depo-Provera and Mirena. However there is the potential for side effects with every medication like this. A different type may just suit you better.
