Wisewoman has brought up an excellent point.
My sister and I were discussing earlier some exercise equipment we were wanting to buy and she found one of those things like a gazelle for $50 at a flea market. It works and everything, she's going to try to talk them down to $30.00 Not too shabby even if it's used.
Treadmills are nice but can definitely be lived without. My father in law used to walk in the house, just walk and walk turn around and walk from one end to the other.....it did just as good as his treadmill.
We have a stair stepper thing. I'm going to have my husband oil it up and see if it still works. That'll be one less thing to buy and it really works on the legs. There are several people here that are wanting to lose weight too. My sister in law, my niece and my sister, so I think we're going to implement afternoon walks. My oldest daughter is getting in on this too.
I have done a terrible job with teaching her how to eat...or should I say overeat. We bought a scale the other night to keep up with how much weight we're losing. Going to do like Weight Watchers and weigh once a week to check progress, etc.
My 11 year old stepped on the scale and it broke my heart. She's the same height as me (5'9) and weighs 217 lbs., the poor child. She outweighs me by 25 lbs! I've gotta do something I am so glad for this healthy eating stuff and everybody jumping on because it's really inspired me to do something.
Then maybe I can redeem myself with her.
Take Care all,
Kimberly.
