From someone that has DID (was dx ten yrs ago) - I have to say when I saw some footage of how Britteny had been acting while she out and about the town with a friend or two the first thing I thought was...... I wonder IF she might have DID?

As far as what it takes for ones mind to take on the disorder of DID in order to protect its host.... the severity of the trauma difference with each person as to what they can or cannot handle, therefore, one size does not fit all with DID.

And - the amount of time it takes to Dx a patient with DID depends upon the treating doctor and what experience they have with DID....... I was Dx within four days of my two weeks hospital stay.
