I know this is an older thread but it came up when I did a Google search about BBQ sauce and illness.

I finally figured out that there's been many times I thought I had a bug or food poisoning and it's actually been a violent reaction to the BBQ sauce.

If I eat it I get violently ill and vomit for about 7 hours. I'm not sure why it causes it but I don't eat it at all anymore.
