I have heard I had this symptom was when I had my first manic event set off by phen fen (antidepressant plus speed, essentially).

I remember being frustrated opening files on my desk and being unable to concentrate enough to do any work.

I felt that I was making logical jumps from one topic to another while talking to the psychiatrist my employer sent me to. He did not. He felt that I was delivering disorganized speech, rapid fire. He said I wasn’t making sense and he couldn’t follow it.

Another psychiatrist saw me in my only other full manic event—he later told me I had pressure of speech during the mania.

I am not like this otherwise. I would not be able to hold down my job. I have to write and communicate policy.
