Two years ago i went to a counseling center to get my diagnosis for add. I was given the test, was approved, and got my prescription for the lowest dose of adderall (10mg a day). For my major i am required to take a few state tests which are known to be difficult because of the timing so i looked into getting accommodations for extra time to complete the test. This required me to get my records of being diagnosed and to send them to the testing center to be approved. Well. I went and picked up copies of records and was pissed at what they said. I assumed it would be information such as when i was diagnosed but instead it was a list of so called 'symptoms' that were overly exaggerated. The papers said that i was at high risk of alcohol abuse and pretty much made me seem like a huge party girl( i have wine night like once a month with girlfriends how is this an alcoholic). There is no way i can send this to my school and to the testing center as it has overly exaggerated (pretty much straight up lies) bad information about me. It also said i had huge problems with insomnia which i never said, i used a yes/no checklist that asked if i ever had difficulty sleeping. I said yes to that but not yes to severe insomnia like this psychologist had written. I'm pissed and immediately went home and shredded these papers. Is there any way i can have this information taken out of my records.
