You do not have the signature with meds, but I would at least try Gabapentin because it is relaxing, does not interact with other meds, and, has a benign side effects profile. I have no side effects taking it for sleep. I love Gabapentin. People take it for anxiety, although it did not work for me, and irritability is like a flip side of anxiety, so I would give it a try. Unlike the ADHD medications, Gabapentin would not make your Pdoc balk.
