There isn't much I can do to redirect my thoughts and/or emotional turmoil. Sometimes, if I'm lucky, I can sink into a book for a while. Sometimes, writing it all down helps purge it from my system. Honestly, the only SURE way to redirect my thoughts (and actually get some relief from the su ideation) is to smoke. It helps me eat, sleep and smile (with the help of a funny TV show or movie). I smoke/eat a cookie, and 20 minutes later I'm zoning out and giggling at something on NETFLIX. I only do it when I'm at home, and know I don't have to go anywhere for 4-6 hours. I've tried other Rx, and nothing is more effective with the added bonus of NO side effects.
I hope you find some catharsis.
