Hi buffy, my doctor wanted to put me on Lexapro for anxiety. She said it had helped many of her patients with anxiety. Some anti-depressants are not as effective against anxiety. Another good one for anxiety is paxil. Lexapro does not have the weight gain problems associated with it that paxil does though. Good luck with Lexapro--hope it helps. (I did not end up taking Lexapro, as it was tier 3 in my insurance plan's formulary--just too expensive for me.)
