That said, the cameras wouldn't be used to spy on anyone IMO. It's just a personal safety thing, not a spying thing. Or if they do "spy," it's not to plan an attack; it's just to monitor things to make sure things are ok. Lots of cameras are connected to the internet via WiFi or ethernet for real-time surveillance.
It sucks that people can't trust others, but some people are just not trustworthy, so the owner of the house has no choice but to install cameras.
I would assume Halliebeth is a trustworthy person in the eyes of the owner because she cares a lot about what she's doing and wouldn't steal, but IDK how the person she's babysitting for actually feels about her since I'm not that person.

Of course, and i was going to add that to the end of my post but forgot- id you ARE concerned about the possibility of cameras, you can always just ask.
Then its just open and shut. If she says no, then you can relax about it a bit
