Update on the Netfix situation, I may be able to get my own account after all, talked to my Mom at dinner yesterday, told her I was learning German, and that I wanted to be able to change the language settings and didn't want to mess with my sister's account. So I'll probably sign up next month for it. I would just have to sit really close to my TV or download the app to my Kindle (so I have it right in front of my face) to read subtitles, since I'm blind. Hey I'll take any exposure to the language I can get.
