Thanks for your kind response (and it was more than the sentence I requested!) This is probably silly, but the thing that affected me most was the smiley emoticon at the end--because I was worried you'd be annoyed about the e-mail, and to me, that implies you're not. I'll try to carry your thoughts with me today.

Edited to add: Aw, I just looked again and realized it was a winking smiley (Gmail on the computer makes them look like little blobs, so can be hard to tell). That's kind of more endearing, actually.
