It's hard to say. If you have a cheap power strip then, it could have done something to it or the computer may have just been protecting itself.
Try turning off the computer and the power strip and then look on the back of the computer for a little red switch that can be toggled back and forth. Move it one way and then back again. When you do there may be a little light on the back that lights up. Whether it does or not just turn the power strip back on and then try to boot up the computer and see if that fixes the problem.
