Until we find a way to keep weapons out of the hands of those who have no respect for fellow humans it won't stop. But it's more than that IMO. It's how mean, angry, hopeless, threatened, entitled, unfair, violent, sad etc. etc. our society is. It's so hard after violence not to feel like you have to do something to protect yourself, so I understand to a point that other kid thinking he needed to learn to shoot in an effort to not ever feel helpless in an attack, but putting it out there on social media . . . what did they expect to happen? Everyone is on edge and if you have a kid posting pics with a gun it's going to get a reaction. I don't know, the whole thing just freaks me out & brings back so many awful memories.
I completely understand how you feel. In a way I understand why the parent decide to teach their kid to shoot a gun out of protection. But I also understand the school reaction especially after what had happen recently. The fear of seeing a student shooting a gun that run through my mind is that could be a family member who I would lose to gun violence because the student know how to fire a gun. Is this the next person harming our family?
