((((Wright)))) Thanks for the hug.

I didnt watch the program, but I know it was suppose to be about the Mangano's, the owners of St. Rita's Housing. It's a very sad story what happened there, when it could have been stopped. All they had to do was bus them out. The buses offered had a/c and were set up to handle the elderly.

My grandfather was in a home in St. Bernard during a few storms. We never evacuated, but the home he was at always called days ahead to know of our plans. If the storm was even threaten our coast they bussed the entire home my grandfather was in. They were taken up to Baton Rouge once and Jackson, Miss another time.

I was wondering if they talked at all in the show about the MRGO. The MRGO is a manmade canal called the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet. It was built back in the late 50's i think and for years the people of St. Bernard and New Orleans East have been tring to get it closed down and filled in. It not only flooded us, but its killed off alot of our wetlands. Mixing the saltwater with the freshwater. According to our local paper here the MRGO is no closed. But, just two days ago i saw a ship down there while going over the green bridge.

Around here we have a saying, 'No More MRGO'.
