Yes. I uderstand. Dh used to have human form like he was my evil twin but, after I created and added a protector to our collective/system to counter him he changed himself to look like this protector but, with different color fur and eyes.
They are rivals.

Yes. We once had the same level of control that you speak of and a gatekeeper that was added was part of that control but, DH became stronger and our gatekeeper wasn't enough so the protector personality was brought in to counter him and everything was fine for a very long time but, due to intense psychological and emotional stress and now our physical health decreasing he once again grew more powerful and it became a strain to control him even with the gatekeeper personality, the protector, a second protector and myself as well.
Recently after I turned my back on God and did some other mean things DH was really impressed and stopped persecuting me and we came to a mutual agrreement to accept each other and now he is no longer governed by the gatekeeper personality or subject to my laws. My two protectors still don't trust him though but, they respect and obey me as their creator.
Some of my personalities have the ability to temporarily merge to form yet another personality for handling certain tasks and DH and I can merge to form a new personality with yet another non-human form.

I feel the same way and DH knows this and out of his new attitude towards me has decided to maintain better control of his temper for the sake of remaining free because he knows my fears about having my freedom taken away.

I'm trying to and he listens to me more now and considers my opinions but, there was a time when he viewed me as a weakling and did everything in his power to bring me down.

I'm trying but, putting up with my living conditions and my brother acting like a bully and a control freak are really starting to make me lose my grip.

No, I'm not. I've never heard of that but, DH knows that the rest of us think that he is a demon and he really loves that we think of him that way. He even looks demonic.
After being triggered and he starts to fade back into the dark corners of our mind it leaves me feeling tired and spent as though he is feeding off of my life force.
It only happens with him. It did happen once with my first protector but, that was because he had to stay in control for a full day in order to watch over me and see to it that I went to the ER for a psych evaluation.
