Hi all, first time poster here. This is a very specific question that it's possible no one on here will be able to answer, but I'm gonna give it a shot. I have ADHD and finally got it together to get prescribed medication a few years ago. I live and work in San Francisco in the trades in a job that requires attention me to pay attention to detail and multitask while balancing on steel beams sometimes 110 feet up in the air, and if you mess up people can get really hurt. I take Vyvanse and it has significantly helped me at work, and helped me feel confident and capable. I recently lost my insurance which, after getting prior authorization from my doctor, had been covering my prescription minus a small co-pay. I've recently signed up for Medi-Cal and was presented with two options: Anthem Blue Cross Bay area, or the San Francisco Health Plan, which is available to residents of San Francisco. I know that neither of these plans covers Vyvanse (Or any other ADHD stimulant medication for adults) without a prior authorization from a doctor (Which I will get) but even past that it's unclear if they'll pay for it. It seems very dependent on the individual case. I'm wondering if anyone here is familiar with these plans and has any insight as to which one might be more likely to approve the prior authorization? Thanks everyone regardless!
