Our family doctor was that way, he delivered my grandmother, my mother, me, and told me I was preggers with my first child. He was very offended (as was my great-grandmother) that I did not choose him for my prenatal care and delivery.
He was an old frail looking man when I was a child. But he could look at you and know that there was a problem. He ran different tests in his office and charged 20 for a test that would cost you 100 in the clinic or the hospital. An office call in 1989 was $25.
I hated him as a child, and did not respect his abilities until I entered the medical profession in my late 20's. He was also famous for another reason. Al Capone was shot in Crandon Wisconsin and Dr. Gorrilla was kidnapped to take care of him.
