I take just the 1 mg once a day at bed time. I have had trouble falling asleep/staying asleep for about three weeks now, so the doctor thought the Ativan would take the edge off my anxiety enough to let me sleep. Maybe it's because I take it right before I turn out the light, but I haven't noticed much of an effect, although I do seem to be sleeping through the night.
