When people say things, I take what they say & see if there is any piece of truth in what they say. Then I figure out how or if it applies to me.
I have the ability to discern what applies & what doesn't to my life. I keep what does & toss the rest away & then see how I might apply.
Some people just offer useless comments, others commrnts can have some value for me to see things in a different light & learn & grow from. After all that is what learning & growing is all about. NOT taking EVERYTHING everyone says but that which applies & can help.

actually neither approach is the right way....when something idn't going well one NEEDS to be told BUT they need to be helped in a mentoring way so they can learn how to fix what isn't going well & not have a rug pulled out from under. This ALL takes work on everyone's part.
My X-H is the kind of person who has things go bad but never hears what anyone has to say. He gets rugs pulled out from under him constantly because of his inabikuty to hear what he has been told & no, he is NOT going to be ok & is ending up homeless because of it. One has to approach life wuth wisdkm & common sense. Don't ignore the warnings but don't take everything as fact either.
To tell a kid who is running in circles in the outfield that he is doing good & will become a orofessional baseball player like that is just plain foolishness. What the kid needs is someone to help him lesrn to play baseball & eirk with him & if there is still no interest, find skmething else he is more interested in.
